The 2016 Special Olympics of Maryland held their 2016 Fall Sports Fest at Mount St Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD and the Fort Ritchie complex in Fort Ritchie, MD. Emily Gilmore, Community Partnerships Coordinator said, “Special Olympics Maryland’s annual Fall Sports Festival brought together hundreds of athletes from across the state on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Athletes competed in six different sports; Flag Football, Long Distance Running, Powerlifting, Tennis, and Cycling. The competitions were held at Mount St. Mary’s University and Fort Ritchie Community Center, both providing excellent venues for our athletes to play.” MyWay Mobile Storage of Baltimore provided four total portable storage units to the locations which were loaded with all of the necessary equipment needed for the event, transported from their office in South Baltimore to the festival venues.
The daylong event which primarily took place at the Athletic complex of the beautiful, scenic campus of Mount St. Mary’s University included 300 athletes, 60 coaches, 40 partners and 250 volunteers.
