MyWay Mobile Storage Sponsors the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race

MyWay Mobile Storage is pleased to again be a sponsor for the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race. Established in 1977 by then mayor, Richard S. Caliguiri, the Great Race will be run for the 36th time September 29, 2013. The 10K course (6.2 miles) begins in Frick Park at Beechwood Boulevard. The predominately downhill course travels along Forbes Avenue, Fifth Avenue and Boulevard of the Allies before finishing in Point State Park. The 5K (3.1 miles) starts at Fifth Avenue and Atwood Street in Oakland and follows the same route as the 10K to the Finish Line. Last year’s race drew a record number of registered runners, 15,000, and that number was matched this year with a pre-race “sell out.”

MyWay Mobile Storage is providing several SafeBox units needed to store items at the Start and finish lines for the event. MyWay Storage franchise owner, Ed Sickmund, said, “This is one of Pittsburgh’s premiere events. The race drew a record number of registered runners last year and matched that number this year.” Sickmund continued, “MyWay is happy to sponsor the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race for the 4th time.”

There are some new things about the Great Race this year. The Highmark Great Race Expo is bigger and better than ever and now moved to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The Expo offers two days of health screenings, product sampling, demonstrations, discounted sporting goods and a kids area. New this year, runners will receive access to a Great Race “virtual goodie bag.” As part of its efforts to go green, the Great Race and its sponsors are making discounts available through an easy to use online goodie bag. Included in the bag is a MyWay discount coupon good for one year.

Runners will also appreciate that Pasta Party Saturday (the tradition of pre-race pasta) is offered not only at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown, but also area Olive Garden locations (Cranberry Township, Greentree, McIntyre Square, Monroeville Mall, Pittsburgh Mill, Robinson Town Center, Southland Center, Village Square, and Washington).
