2014 Holiday Breakfast

MyWay Mobile Storage of Pittsburgh Joins Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services Charity Benefits and Coldwell Banker South Hills Office to Support 2014 Holiday Breakfast

MyWay Mobile Storage of Pittsburgh is pleased to have joined with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services Charity Benefits and Coldwell Banker South Hills Office to support the 2014 Holiday Breakfast. The annual event benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pittsburgh and West Virginia and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Marian McGinley, manager of the Coldwell Banker South Hills office, said, “We are thrilled our charity breakfast has become a holiday tradition for so many people. Each year we are amazed by the number of businesses and individual patrons who contribute to this event. Thanks to their generosity, we not only have a successful fundraiser, but a fun and festive celebration.”

McGinley went on to thank the 14-member event organizing committee, noting that Judy Hlister was particularly instrumental in the event’s success.

The local Make-A-Wish chapter, founded in 1983, has granted more than 12,500 wishes and was the first chapter in the world to fulfill more than 700 wishes in 1 year. Worldwide, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 150,000 wishes. For information on how to refer a child, or to volunteer, visit http://greaterpawv.wish.org.

The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank collects and distributes food through a network of more than 380 members in 11 counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Members include outlets such as soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, after school programs, senior high-rises, Meals-on-Wheels, and community centers throughout the region. The Food Bank currently distributes approximately 27 million pounds of food annually.

Ed Sickmund, MyWay Mobile Storage Market Owner, said, “MyWay is happy to be able to support this terrific event. I was astounded by all the baskets and items donated for the Basket of Cheer Raffle. Our MyWay storage unit was filled to the brim before they brought everything into the Upper St. Clair Crown Plaza where the event was held.”

“Make-A-Wish is grateful for this event and everyone’s generous support,” said Meghan Sluzinsky, Make-a-Wish Wish Assistant and former Wish Recipient. Her wish in 1998 was a swimming pool. She has been working for Make-A-Wish since her graduation 2 years ago from John Carroll University.

Ivy Ero, with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank said, “The food items everyone donated – many of them breakfast items – are always in high demand. The financial support enables us to feed families throughout the year. There is a constant need that lasts beyond the holidays.”
