The event is filled with German attractions, including music, demonstrations and over 50 unique German-themed vendors offering a variety of gifts, art and crafts, décor and authentic cuisine. Other popular activities included the Weiner Takes All dog race, the St. Charles Oktoberfest 5k and Root Beer 1 Mile Fun Run, an antique car show, the Samuel Adams Raise the Stein, and a Swiss Meats Brat Eating Contest.

Now in its 31st year, the Saint Charles festival is based on the German Oktoberfest holiday, believed to have begun in 1810 as a wedding celebration for Prince Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. The event drew a crowd of well over 50,000 from across the state and beyond.
